Common schemes
- Phishing text or email claiming your account is blocked, linking to a convincing fake bank login page.
- Call from a supposed bank employee asking for a code or push approval because of “suspicious transactions”.
- Request to install a “new security app” or re-register a device in the push-TAN process.
How to protect yourself
- Banks NEVER ask for a code, PIN or password by phone, text or email – hang up or delete the message.
- Always log in yourself via the official app or a manually typed address – never via links in messages.
- If in doubt, call your bank using the number on the back of your card and block the card/access immediately.
